About the book….
Made in secret has touched me in so many ways, I now understand more about how to deal with my wife who is post abortive and the things that go on in her mind of regret , shame and all the what if s .... and also makes me understand more about myself and why I react the way I do to situations being a post abortive man... I couldn't put it down once I started reading it thank you for sharing your story !
Made in Secret is a soul baring, true story, that many women will be able to relate to. Being open and honest in telling her story, Robin didn’t hold anything back in sharing the guilt and shame she felt, and the struggle she faced in choosing to end the lives of her unborn children.. She has given hope to all who have experienced these same decisions through the forgiveness of God, who has given her peace and a platform to share, so others can find that same forgiveness. Thank you for your honesty Robin!
I would recommend this book to anyone that has struggled with their past decisions to have an abortion and the suppressed guilt over that decision. Many women will be able to relate to Robin’s story, Made in Secret, and the heartbreak of making life altering decisions. Just know that we have a loving and forgiving God, and when we acknowledge Him and ask for His forgiveness, He does promise to forgive. He wants us to have a personal relationship with Him, and he has given His word, the Bible, to guide and direct us so the purpose of our life may be discovered and lived out.
Wow! I could not put this book down. The truth of Robin's story takes the reader on a rollercoaster of emotions. She does not hold back on things that might otherwise be seen as taboo to some. Only read this book if you have ever made a decision that caused pain and that you regret, which is likely nobody.
Made In Secret is an eye opening, emotional journey through heartbreak and pain. I saw my own sorrow and pain through Robin's words yet felt the joy in her restoration.
I had never heard anyone ever tell their story of the consequences of being post-abortive before I read, Made In Secret. Robin candidly tells her story about how consequences of past decisions have affected her everyday life.
The book, Made In Secret, helped me see how the consequences of my past abortion has caused me to feel unworthy of love from others specifcally my children. I finally realize why I keep people at arm's length and have often blocked my children from my life.
It takes a lot of courage to expose yourself and tell the details about decisions that you knew in your heart were against every belief you held. To share the raw and honest particulars of her life and the unending shame and quiet guilt she felt, will resonate with many women. This will help many women who have harbored the secret of what they have done, and never told anyone about their choice to end the life of their unborn. It will let them know they are not the only one who feels deep remorse and is looking for the answer to be forgiven. That answer is made chrystal clear in Made in Secret!
I would describe “Made in Secret” as book that is not just advocating for life but also as an invitation to find our value and to know even though we can make mistakes, fall, sin, hurt… we’re always worth of love and most importantly there’s always hope, there’s always a ray of sunshine. Robin Hengel tells her life story in a very catching way, you will find yourself identified with many of her feelings and maybe some of the life situations she had to endure, learning how she throve and how she was able to overcome many difficult situations, helps you believe there’s hope and when you strive to do better, to be better, when you see yourself as worth of love you can really soar! If you know someone who’s struggling with a decision already made that hunts him/her or someone who is confused and needs to make important decisions due to an unexpected or unwanted pregnancy, you would do this person no matter, man or woman a great favor by letting them read this book, they will find in her words guidance, understanding, light… but most importantly a way to know we can’t lose hope and no matter our struggles or pain, life is still beautiful, worth living and we can find purpose and meaning through helping others. Something that I really take as a lesson from this wonderful book, is to embrace your faults and make them victories. I hope you can enjoy it as much as I.
